When asked, I tell people Quiet Riot was the first concert I attended. Hell, I've even mentioned that on this site.
It's a total lie.
While it was the first concert I wanted to attend, I actually went to two concerts with my parents prior to Quiet Riot. The inner hipster in me has destroyed all memories of said concerts, but the fact remains that I saw both Sha Na Na and Alabama in concert when I was little.
Of course, a true hipster would probably relish the thought of telling others the first concert he attended was Sha Na Na.
Why am I telling you this? Because my daughter attended her first "real" concert this weekend. Sure, she's seen Dora in the past. And she's also seen bands at bars and parks. But this was her first "real" concert in a dark coliseum.
And I'm hoping that one day she'll be able to block this concert from her memory. I know I'm trying to excise it from mine. Because no matter what they claim, I found the show far from Cheetah-licious.
