Let me drop some Seuss-inspired rhymes on ya:
Zoey can say words like Kalamazoo,
Rhinoceros, elephant, and jaguar too.
But try as she might, my friend, try as she may,
There's one little word poor Zoey can't say.
Zoey can't say the word man.
Man. M-A-N. One syllable, three letters. Man. M. A. N.
Instead of man, Zoey says ma'am.
So, in Zoey's world, a snowman is a snowma'am. An ice cream man is an ice cream ma'am. When she pretends she's Swiper the Fox, she exclaims, "Oh, ma'am!"
You get the picture.
Of course, maybe I shouldn't be concerned. Maybe I just have a budding feminist on my hands.
Stand By Your Ma'am
